Jensen-Olson Arboretum Advisory Board

The Jensen Olson Arboretum Advisory Board (JOAAB) will sunset on April 30, 2023 and action regarding the Arboretum will go before the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee effective May 1, 2023.The Arboretum Advisory Board was formed to advise on the Arboretum’s guiding vision as provided by Caroline Jensen: “The vision of the Arboretum is to provide the people of Juneau a place that both teaches and inspires learning in horticulture, natural sciences, and landscaping; to preserve the beauty of the landscape for pure aesthetic enjoyment; to maintain the historic and cultural context of the place and its people.” The board advised and assisted the Director of Parks and Recreation on issues including, but not limited to, capital campaigns and fund raising, and programmatic direction consistent with the guiding vision above.
